Research on the representation of women in arts and society, focusing on women's illnesses such as hysteria, utilizing them as the pretext for repressing and downgrading women;

09.09.2022 – 16.10.2022  – “Book of Change 2021”, Group Exhibition, Autumn Exhibition 2022 organized by the Association of Norwegian Visual Artists at Kunstnernes Hus, Oslo, NO.

This is a text- and drawing-based collective art project initiated by choreographer and dancer Georgiana Dobre and visual artist Kjersti Vetterstad. The project is based on scores, i.e. simple, written or drawn instructions that can be directed at an individual or a group. The instructions may suggest a thought experiment or an action that can be performed in a private or public context. Dobre and Vetterstad have invited four artists who identify as queer – two who live in Norway and two from Romania – to write down a score. Each of the artists involved has in turn invited two new artists to write scores, and so on. The purpose of these instructions is to encourage the reader to twist, bend or break heteronormative thought patterns;

The project describes the effects of excessive industrialisation, reflecting on the social, economic and political conditions of contemporary Romania and Eastern Europe in general. As in Dickens' Coketown, the city cancels out individual identity, encouraging increasing generalisation and socio-economic inequalities;
