ARTIST STATEMENT
My artistic practice explores the complex relationship between societal perceptions of the human body and the discourses that attempt to define and regulate it. Through the abstraction of human forms—primarily the female body—I seek to reveal the dangers that arise when symbols, myths, and cultural narratives become intertwined with efforts to prescribe social roles and identities.
Working with silicone and painting techniques, I create stylised human figures that evoke both vulnerability and resistance. Photography, in turn, becomes a means of documenting and situating these forms within the spaces they inhabit, establishing a dialogue between the abstracted body and the social frameworks through which it is perceived. By juxtaposing material presence with contextual imagery, my work invites viewers to critically reflect on the relationship between representation, power, and the narratives imposed upon the body.
